RUSSIANS TOP 30 MOST POPULAR FRANCHISEES IN 2015

During the crisis, business is opening for the franchise - a popular solution. Companies are able to develop without a large investment, and franchise reduce their risks. RBC made a rating of the most popular franchises in 2015.

"The crisis - a good time to start a franchise business. On the one hand, someone loses a job, but someone does not see prospects for their own business and looking for a new field of activities. On the other hand, for a franchisee it is easier to negotiate with the owners of property and to find employees. According to executive director of the Russian Franchising Association Yuri Mikhailichenko, in 2015 the Russian market of franchises grew by 15% (association representatives interviewed 70 key franchise networks, as the number of institutions increased their partners).

"A lot of brands that before the crisis, did not consider franchising as a business development strategy, and opened only its own shops, is now launching a franchise network", - says CEO "Franconia" (Franchise Consultant) Nina Semina. Case in point - McDonald's, which works worldwide on franchising system and in Russia also. The company opened their own establishments, not trusting the Russian businessmen. But in the summer of 2015 American chain finally sold its first Russian franchise license, passing the Kemerovo LLC "GID" the right to open the network restaurants in Novosibirsk, Tomsk and Kemerovo regions and Altai. In an interview with Forbes president of McDonald's in Russia Khamzat Khasbulatov said that will attract new franchisers: in 2016 the company expects to open 60 new restaurants, including with partners.

There are a lot of newcomers to the market. For example, in the spring of 2016 have been started selling of franchise by network «Fashion House», electronic cigarette store chain «Vape Flava», bookmaker office «FonBet», internet posters «TimeOut», the network stores of designer Bella Potemkina; at the stage of launching a franchise are promotional service «Biglion», taxi company «2412”, and others. Chain stores of goods at one price "ZAODNO", co-owner of which in the summer of 2015 became Vladimir Potanin, has launched a franchise program in December 2015. "It was our anti-crisis proposal and opening stores quickly across the country on our own strength was impossible", - says Franchise Director of the network Dmitry Pershikov. In spring of 2016, the network of more than 70 stores, had already 6 franchisers.

Experts of Franshiza.ru refer to the market segments with strong competition within the branch, for example catering and medical services. But this fact does not prevent to develop actively franchise within these segments. For example, in the top 10 are large networks of medical centers "Invitro" and "Hemotest laboratorija", cafes Subway and "33 Pingvina."

Nevertheless, the first three positions in the ranking took franchisors from other fields: a developer and seller of software "1C", advising system "Consultant Plus" and the network of cosmetics stores Yves Rocher. All three companies are working in Russia since the early 1990s, they have a proven business model and large affiliate network. The reverse side of popularity - a strong competition between the franchisers. The founder of 1C Boris Nuraliev acknowledges that the company does not force involving of new partners: "We cover a large part of the market, and the competition is like salt in the soup: cooking the soup edible, its should not be too much and not too little."
